A year later, he made his debut at London Fashion Week on-schedule show and became an instant favorite among the fashionistas and the press.
The models loved his clothes so much that fashion models Kate Moss and Jade Jagger agreed to model for him in return for frocks!
He is known for his unique color sense and exquisite embroidery and beading.
An innovative designer, Matthew Williamson could not be faulted with his mastery of techniques and cut. His trademark style – embellished silks, embroidered leather pieces and beaded cashmere knits.
His most sought after accessory – the Karma Kit, a white leather clutch bag complete with leather flower, jasmine flower mist, jasmine flower mist, a peppermint pulse-point balm, incense perfume and a pink travel candle.
Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Hurley and Julia Roberts have been seen wearing his creations.
Matthew Williamson started showing in New York during the Fall 2002 fashion season, but continued to maintain a London base while showing his collections at New York Fashion Week.
His close association with London was reinforced with the opening of his celebrated flagship store here in 2004 and by his return to London Fashion Week in 2007 to celebrate the label’s 10 year anniversary.
The label continues to grow and expand on a global basis -recently opening stores in New York and Dubai.
