2012 HAIR TRENDS
Futurism was the name of the game at shows such as Rochas, Issey Miyake and Narciso Rodriguez, where hair was sculpted into the most streamlined of cone-shaped chignons. Just make sure to use plenty of hairspray if you choose to copy this look yourself - stray hairs just will not do.
Yes, ponytails are just as prevalent this season as last, but a new way of wearing the trend was seen at Emilio Pucci, where tousled, side-parted hair was gathered into super-low ponies a few inches from the ends. The look was also seen at Clements Ribeiro, and at Viktor & Rolf, where it was tied with a neat little ribbon.
How pretty is this looped pony from the Carolina Herrera show? Orlando Pita was responsible for this super-practical look, whilst it was Luigi Murenu who provided the glamorous slicked styles at Gucci, pinning all the loose ends underneath the body of a perfectly lacquered pony. At Moschino Cheap & Chic they were looped up and tied with raffia and ribbon, whilst Marc by Marc Jacobs and House of Holland saw them clipped down at the nape of the neck with Goody barrettes.
